The route to us
By Car
From the A8 (from Karlsruhe or Munich): At the "Stuttgart-Vaihingen" motorway junction, continue on the A831 towards "Stuttgart-Mitte", take the "Universität" exit, turn right and then left. For further directions, please refer to the campus map.
The best parking space is the university car park behind building V7.
By Train
Use the S-Bahn network of the city of Stuttgart and choose "Universität" as your train station.
Further information on the timetables can be found on the pages of the Verkehrsverbund Stuttgart (VVS).
By Plane
Go to the S-Bahn station in Terminal 1 or Terminal 3. The entrance is marked by a large green 'S'. Buy a 2 zone ticket at the orange ticket machines near the escalators to the platform. Take the S-Bahn in the direction of Hauptbahnhof (all lines) and get off at Universität (travel time: 17 minutes). Leave the station in the direction of Universitätszentrum.
How to find us!
The entrance to the IEW is located at 48°44'49.3‘N 9°06'18.4’E (Google Maps).
To get from the S-Bahn station to the entrance, walk north through the underpass. You will find the entrance on your left.
When you enter the building at the entrance mentioned above, you will find yourself in an entrance area.
Seminar room (0.348)
From the entrance area, turn right through the glass door. The seminar room is located at the end of the corridor on the left-hand side.
Library (0.330)
From the entrance area, turn left through the glass door. The library is at the end of the corridor on the right-hand side.
Machine hall
From the entrance area, go straight ahead into the stairwell on the left-hand side. Go down one floor. When you leave the stairwell, turn left and go through the door. The machine halls are on the left-hand and right-hand sides.
