On October 12th 2023, David Maier completed the defence of his dissertation at the IEW. For this achievement
congratulations from the bottom of our hearts.
His dissertation deals with the iEESM which is researched at the iew. Specifically, he focused on the integration of the contactless energy transfer system. He developed a standardised design routine and operating strategies for energy transmission systems located in the shaft of the electrically excited synchronous machine. Thereby he paved the way for low-maintenance EESMs with low installation space requirements.
