On 16.12.2019 the former staff member, Marcel Maier, completed the defence of his dissertation at the IEW. Marcel was able to complete his dissertation with a summa cum laude, therefore
Marcel's dissertation dealt with a rotating inductive energy transfer system for an electrically excited synchronous machine (EESM). The focus here was to replace the lossy slip rings and thus to work up a big disadvantage of the EESM.
