The VDE (Verband der Elektrotechnik Elektronik Informationstechnik e.V.) annually awards the best publications in the field of electrical power engineering. This year David Maier (staff member of the institute since 2016) was honoured with the ETG Literature Award 2019 with his journal "Contribution to the System Design of Contactless Energy Transfer Systems".
In his journal he dealt with the basics of contactless energy transfer, in detail with system modeling and the transfer functions between primary and secondary side. He also dealt with the influence of current harmonics on system behavior and verified his theoretical considerations with measurements on prototypes.
